Cholla Area Neighborhood

August 2008

At the beginning of summer, Barb Lincoln asked me to take over the neighborhood group after her 10 years of dedication and leadership. I accepted because I know that we have a lot of caring residents who are ready to become more involved and help their neighbors. You will be hearing more about how you can help.

A few days after Barb made the announcement, she passed away. Let's revitalize our block watch and neighborhood association in memory of Barb and to help each other.

Original Owners

My parents were original owners in the neighborhood and I still remember visiting our lot while under construction. There was just a slab with plumbing sticking up. Old family pictures show new homes with new landscaping - tiny twigs for trees and lawns that hadn't even started.

We are now a mature neighborhood in the heart of the city. The location is great and I plan to stay for a long time. I hope you feel the same way.

The first photo is a mom and baby hummingbird from 2007. The nest was in my apricot tree on a low branch. It was great fun to watch.
