In October 2001, the Argyle Area Civic Council (AACC) approved their by-laws and elected the first slate of officers. The traditional officer positions were established and a new position, Communications Director, was created for Bill Lewis. I maintain the AACC information and meeting minutes posted on the AACC web site. I have been the AACC president since 2006. Today, the AACC sends email to over 850 Argyle Forest Area neighbors in Duval and Clay counties. We email out information regarding the meetings and important issues and news of the Argyle Forest Area. We also send the same email messages to elected and government officials, media and other “civic minded” Jacksonville residents. Since I include my phone number on these emails, I get calls and emails regularly from Argyle Forest neighbors who ask for help whenever they can’t get the attention their issue deserves. I pass these issues and concerns on to the other AACC officers, directors or government officials. As a group, the AACC has been able to get a quicker response whenever action is required of government officials. Communications is one of the most important parts of the success of any group. The AACC has become successful because of the talents and contacts of its officers and members and the effective communications that I provide. I am also the Communications Director for the the Jacksonville Quarterback Club.
