I grew up in this neighborhood (starting on the 4th of July the year I turned 6) & felt lucky to have that opportunity. Most of my free time in the summer was spent swimming at the pool or the lake. I moved out at the age of 17 but this house was still a big part of my life since both of my parents lived, & died here. My Mother passed in 1988 of cancer & but convinced my Dad how much my daughter & I needed & loved him. He didn't pass until 2000 (with us keeping a close check on him for the last 3 or 4 years that he lived in this house until he needed us to move in full time to help out). We lived just under a mile away so it wasn't a big deal. I have 2 older brothers but I am the local yokel. The firemen timed me when Dad called me to say he couldn't get up & it took me 1 minute to get there. Anyway, that brings us to where I am now. There are still a lot of holes but you get the idea. I still live with the man that helped me take care of my Dad during his last years (& still love him).
