Escape from Domestic Violence

There are a lot of local resources available to people who need to get out of a situation of domestic violence. The videotape, "It Can Happen to You," shows real people with real-life situations of domestic violence which they finally escaped. There is information about resources available and also enactments of both physical and verbal abuse, the latter often only a prelude to physical violence.

Educate yourself and others on recognizing signs in others and in finding the appropriate agencies to help.

Zonta Club Works with County Sheriff

The videotape was a joint production effort of the Zonta Club of Key West and the Sheriff of Monroe County. The tape has been distributed worldwide to law enforcement agencies for training purposes and to organizations providing shelters and other services to victims of domestic abuse.
