Our small neighborhood in Gilbert, Arizona is being overrun with stray, untamed cats.  A couple of generous residents have been following the 'Trap/Neuter/Return' method of dealing with this problem.  But, things are definitely out of control.  Friendly domesticated cats, family pets, are actually being run out of the neighborhood by aggressive ferel cats.  Homes & yards are being damaged by the ever-growing numbers of stray cats.  And, ferel cats are known to carry fleas & diseases.  Has anyone found a workable solution to this problem that might help us out?

Thanks!

Soo-Z

Hello

I am currently working on the Trap Neuter Release program in our neighbhorhood.   To date I have taken in about 26 cats to be "fixed".   3 kittens were young enough to be socialized and will be adopted out.   The rest were released back.     I am going to continue until I am no longer catching un-fixed cats.    Unfortunately many people have moved out and abandoned their cats which was no fault of the cats.   Good news...  There will be no more or a LOT less new kittens and the spraying/marking/etc will diminish.    If you seen any in your area please email me and give me a description of cat(s).   Cats that have already been fixed will have the very tip of their left ear "off".  Joann    joannfostersdogs@live.com

Soo-z,

I know what you mean about the kitty's. I had one pass away in my leaves in my yard a couple weeks ago:( Then I saw two brand new baby kittens and then never saw them again I hope they are ok. It's sad to see so many in our neighborhood, I have a kitty but she stays inside they just don't have a chance outside. People are mean, other animals, cars I would never have a cat outside. Other than calling animal control I don't see what else would help and we hate to do that especially if they are wild they just don't have a chance of adoption either. Its just an unfortunate situation.
