I would like to know how many of us had water coming inside the house and what is the damage from it. Also if you know how it got there. Thank you

No water problems here

We didn't have any water problems. Actually, no problems at all. However, our next door neighbors did. The water came into their back bedroom and closet. I'm not sure how. I guess I could find that out if you needed me to.

Many homes had water intrusion

I have been contacted and informed by many residents (dozens) who had water intrusion during the storms, and I would bet there are many more who did not check their carpets around baseboards for moisture.

The bottom-line seems to be that our warranty does not cover wind-driven rain and you are left with making a claim with your insurance company or fixing the problem yourself.

Sherwin-Williams says that ''no'' product they sell would withstand the pounding these storms hit us with but did recommend that all residents make sure that their stucco cracks are filled in as this appears to be where the water comes in on homes all over the state.

Some water came through around the windows in homes, but in many the water came directly through the wall even if there were no cracks. This is called ''blow-thru'' and upgrading our paint (they have new/better products available than were used on our homes) could help with this problem, though they did not recommend using an ''Elastimeric'' paint.
