Healthy Kids&Happy Kids. A day of free information and entertainment

Health, Safety and Fitness for families is of vital importance and all three continue to be topics for discussion but they seem to overlap in so many ways, that often with our busy lifestyles and limited budget it is easy to say we’ll do it tomorrow. A Boca Raton mom, Gina Barron decided to make a difference a few years ago by partnering with Del Prado Elementary School principal, Sandra Rhategan. Now 5 years later they are teaming up again with PTA’s Sandy Roth  to continue the discussion and raise awareness. We welcome families from Palm Beach and Broward Counties to share this day.

The goal is to provide one day of entertainment, fitness, safety tips and valuable information that can save lives and do this all for FREE. We want parents and their children to come and experience different foods, drinks and get moving. AT the same time we feel it is important to reach out to local businesses and give them an opportunity to showcase their products/services at no charge. This should be a win/win for everyone. Childhood obesity is an enormous problem in our society and we are hoping to address it head on by providing experts in specific fields to come and demonstrate various physical activities, non-profits and healthcare professionals to provide information on community resources.

Interesting challenge when you think of the economy. However; to date the community has stepped up and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

Thomas Farms and Bedner Farmers Market will provide fresh fruits and vegetables from their farms to sample, also the Organic Buying Club of South Florida will have a Farmers Market for sampling of organic fruits and vegetables to taste test, a food court will be available for taste testing by GotSprouts, Pizza, Subs, Chick-fil-A and other vendors and will have samples of healthy foods to provide, Sports Radio will have give-a-way items, DJ, Jamrock Entertainment will be providing non-stop music as their donation to the event, Lake Worth Playhouse, Musicmakers’s young talent demonstrating violin, piano, chiropractors, pediatricians, orthopedics, FAU and Lynn University and Boca Jets Football and Cheerleading have graciously agreed to come with their athletes and provide stations, local football, cheerleading, rugby, karate, kickboxing, skateboarding, basketball and even bowling by Strikes Bowling. Woodmont Camp and Lifetime Fitness will be there with their staff of experts getting everyone moving and healthy, Boomers, Xtreme Indoor Carting has graciously agreed to partner with us as well. Inside we will have community resources such as Mathnasium and non-profits and healthcare speakers such as 3D Learner presenting on various topics and we will address “Bullying” and how it cannot be tolerated at any level, this will be our keynote speaker at the event. Michael Brewer’s Grandma Raises Her Voice Against Teen Violence and Bullying. (The boy that was set on fire in Deerfield Beach) Law enforcement officials, City and State officials and Sheriff’s department).

Come join us for an enlightening day and yes “GET MOVING”!!
