Posted in: W Phila Concerned Block Captains

Philadelphia Corporation for Aging's first "Block Captains Beat the Heat" dinner and information session will take place Monday June 15, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Philadelphia Corporation for Aging, 642 N. Broad Street. There is no charge to attend, but preregistration is required. Call 215-765-9000 ext. 5086 by June 8.

The program will include information on how to help elderly neighbors and others during periods of excessive heat, including information about PCA's Heatline. There will also be a presentation on how to connect senior citizens with services available through PCA, and about our Helpline call center. PCA is presenting this program in conjunction with the Philadelphia County Medical Society, to let block captains know about the resources available to them.

Attendees will receive a packet of information and giveaways, and there will be door prizes.

There is free parking in the PCA lot; and we are half a block from the Fairmount subway stop, a few blocks north of the Spring Garden stop.

Pre-registration is required. Please call 215-765-9000 ext 5086 or send an email to lriley@pcaphl.org with your name and either mailing address or email address, by June 8.
