Villaggio in the Grove

Welcome to our website!

My name is Richard Byrne.  I am President of Villaggio in the Grove Condominium Association in Coconut Grove, Florida.  My intent is to introduce myself and provide the reader with a small bit of Coconut Grove history. 

Actually, Coconut Grove was once a small hamlet reachable from Miami in the last century only by a dirt road and paths woven through thick tropical vegatation and lush flatlands.  Nowadays we are part of Miami, but the best part.  Basically, "the Grove" was devoured and annexed by its larger Miami neighbor back in the day!  In fact, for those of you who might not know it, Miami City Hall is located here within the historic Pan American Airways Flying Boat Terminal that opened back in 1931 as the world's largest air terminal.  Lots of history here! 

This is the first post made to our brand new website Newsletter.  I've long thought of putting Vilaggio on the web and have finally gone and done it!  The reason is simply to provide information about our complex, issues and opportunities.  This site provides a place for comment, suggestions and great ideas.  So, welcome!
