Good Neighbor Policy

Posted in: Baywood Village
I am responding to the article in the Baywood Newsletter about the Good Neighbor Policy. I agree that there are some things that need to be done to improve our neighborhood and to help maintain our property values. The policy sounds ''nice'' but how will it be enforced without written deed restrictions? Most of the homes in Baywood reflect the pride that the owners take in our neighborhood but the handfull that don't really effect the overall appearance. I am glad this is being addressed.
Deed Restrictions

Hello,
Michelle and Eddie Doherty, at 228 Timberlane Drive, I agree with the ''improvement of the neighborhoods. I don't like the idea of ''deed restricted'', because I don't like someone telling me what color my house should be or what kind of roof I can have. But as far as keeping up your homes appearance, yes. We moved to Baywood Village a little over a year ago and we are doing what little we can to improve the look of our house, painting comes next, but probably not till spring. Eddie added a work room in the carport and all the neighbors have come over to say what a great job it is and we are only getting started, with the home improvements. Thanks to my neighbors for all of their nice complements, Eddie and I really appreciate it. I do hope that more residents do their part in making their homes and yards look the best that they can, after all, I've always thought that the way your home looks reflects on those who live there.........
good neighbors

I am proud of Baywood Village for taking this stance. This is much more understanding than taking an iron fist immediately to the ''offenders''. Perhaps with all the neighbors in the construction industry living in this neighborhood we can lend a friendly hand to one another. Maybe in this way we can avoid turning neighbor against neighbor and further putting association fees and budgets at risk as the current board of Baywood Five has created. I am sure many of us would volunteer our time and efforts to help maintain a friendly atmosphere. Remember the old adage about attracting more flies with honey than vinegar.

Bravo to the board of Baywood Village!
Yanks go home!

One of the reasons I moved here was the friendliness of the neighbors and that wonderful feeling of small town atmosphere. The house we bought was a dump (to be polite) that has been let go for over 2 years. My wife and I worked very hard to bring that property to a level that would not hurt the eyes ... and we helped our neighbors, cutting their trees, even replacing an elderly lady?’s mailbox, and the neighbors helped us too and it was paradise...but something happened?…
Some pompous wannabes with no life got elected on the board of the BVA #5 H.O.A. and decided to spoil everything; they started to send threats by letters, hiding behind lawyers and the curtain of cowardice that every law-life uses.
I won?’t extend on the fact that they are partly responsible for my wife and I getting a divorce, nor on the fact that they are causing some owners to sell their property, but I think it?’s time the good neighbors of Baywood Village #5 regain their neighborhood. I?’m not sure where these people came from, nor do I really know how they managed to get elected, but what I know, is that this was a nice and friendly neighborhood before they came along, and I personally don?’t want them around.
They are too stupid to understand that what makes property value is the quality of life in a neighborhood, not how much gold and glitter you put on your front door. I agree that cosmetics are important, but the work a homeowner places in his property is for his own pride, not to increase property value. If you moved here to make money off your property, then you don?’t belong, go back North, and leave us nice folks alone!
