Neighborhood going to trash!!!

Posted in: Southern Dunes

Association & board needs to step up their job and do something about the trashy neighborhood Southern Dunes has became.  Trash in people's yards, trash cans in front yards for weeks at a time, basketball goals in the street, grass not cut, broke down cars parked on street, vandalism, cars broke into, teenagers running the streets all hours of the night...

Parents need to take responsibility for their children who play in the street, walk through everyone's yards, throw trash & food wrappers in everyone's yards...I don't think half the parents here even have a clue where their children are most of the time.  Most of these children are under the age of 12.  WAKE UP people there are child molesters in this addition.

This neighborhood is bad enough with all the foreclosures.  No one is selling their homes and given with the appearance I can understand why.

**It is only going to get worse until HOA, Board & residence do their part to change     this into a nicer neighborhood**

Why don't you join the Advisory Committee so that you can be part of the solution? It is very easy to sit at a computer and type up disparaging remarks about the neighborhood rather than join in solving issues.

Maybe if you as a board member didn't spend your time criticizing a resident for voicing an opinion and instead took the time to address these concerns and open a dialog maybe then something might actually get accomplished or maybe the original poster would actually be inclined to participate. That being said, the original post is spot on, this neighborhood NEEDS to step up and get with it. Where is the parental responsibility these days? Can anyone explain why it is that just this morning at 2:30 a.m. there was a group of teenagers armed with a battery powered spotlight roaming the streets of the Hudson Bay section, hooting and hollering as if it were 2:30 in the afternoon? One boy even felt the need to run up to the side of a neighbors house and relieve himself. There was nothing at all disparaging about the original posters remarks, no one group was singled out in the end and the original assertion is correct, the HOA and the board must provide leadership and enforce the rules that have been established in addition, residents must step up and be responsible for their property, show pride in ownership and be the best parents to their children that they can be.

^^^ Thanks formentioning that.  I moved to Sergi Canyon in November.  Haven't noticed any problems yet however the weather's been crappy and cold.  What gets me is that there are several police officers in the neighborhood as evidenced by the patrol cars in driveways.
