Custos Morum Alliance Chat Rules

May 29, 2004

We the ever changing membership of the Custos Morum Alliance do hereby declare the following to be our rules of conduct, alliance charter and alliance rules.

I. We believe that every indivdual member guild has the right to be a sovereign entity. Governing themselves in their own unique way.

II. We believe that every individual member guild has a uniqueness to offer the other member guilds and to that end will participate in that fashion in order to assist the alliance and to benefit themselves.

III. We believe that our alliance should be based on a democracy with each member guild being afforded the right to have an input and vote on alliance decisions and to not be discriminated against for any time they choose not to excerise that right to vote.

IV. We believe that all member guilds have the responsibility to assist each other in their growth, style and knowledge of their realm in order to work together to benefit each other and the realm itself.

V. We believe that each member guild has the right to be treated with respect by other member guilds and their members and also have the responsibility to ensure their members also conduct themselves in an appropriate manner.

VI. We believe that every guild no matter their size, shape, class make up, race make up or otherwise has the right to be afforded an opportunity of joining a group of guilds devoted to each other in areas of crafting, skills, combat styles, RvR, PvE, and ToA knowledge and that even though a guild may have a small or large amount of members, that in no way makes them more or less important than another.

VII. We believe that in order to grow and learn their must be a code of conduct with each other, and that rules must be instituted in order be a self governing and self sufficient group of individuals and guilds. Remembering that we live by the majority rule but yield to consider and contemplate the minority view. To this effect we agree up on the following as our "Accepted" /as rules with the notion that they can be changed.

Accepted /as Rules

1. The /as channel is for primarily designed for RvR combat actvity, and used to give information (intelligence) and coordinate multiple groups and guilds to effectively fight enemies threatening our realm. Therefore if massive combat activity is ocurring, and a CTA (call to arms) has been issued, this channel is reserved for that activity at that time.

2. The /as channel is an effective way of coordinating large scale activities such as Dragon and Sidi raids, Relic Raids and large group hunts and member guilds are encouraged to use the /as channel for that purpose, remembering that in the event of a CTA that this activity yields and comes to end temporarily until the CTA is put down.

3. We believe in a set of leaders who can make combat decisions for the alliance and as such each guild has 2-3 members depending on guild preference who are officers and delegates in order to enforce /as channel rules and to make a decsion as to whether any enemy activity is of the scale for a Call to Arms for the alliance or whether a Call to Arms has been lead succesfully and there is no longer a need to have the /as channel reserved for such activity.

4. Darkness Falls is an RvR dungeon and the /as channel should be used to inform /as members who has BG's and CG's in order to coordinate defenses of the dungeon as well as to coordinate the clearing of the dungeon. Again remember that DF is not considered as important as a CTA and therefore if there is a CTA in effect DF intel should not be posted in the /as channel.

5. There are very unique and rare items available through out the realm in various different ways, and member guilds are encouraged to use the /as channel to let other guilds and their members know that those items are available for sale or trade, and that once advertised those responding to that advertisement should do so in personal messages to the person that has advertised that item. These advertisements should occur no more than every twenty (20) minutes and should not occur all that often. Examples of rare items would be artifacts, rare scrolls (Like Tyrus 2 of 3) or unique masterpiece (MP-Items with 100% quality) that are drops.

6. The /as channel is not just a regular chat channel that cg's and guild chats are and this should be remembered. There is never a problem with have a short 10-15 minute friendly conversation with other member guilds and their members, for gratzing other members on levels, gratzing on Realm Ranks (RR's), the attaining of crafting levels (like 400, 500 etc.), the attaining of Master Levels (ML's) or for saying hellos and goodbyes. Remember that /as channel IS a way of getting to know your fellow allance brothers and sisters and should be used for such but not abused and used as a chat channel.

7. To that end foul language is NEVER permitted in /as. Of course as any one will tell you, people do mis-tell (MT) and the rare MT into /as of a foul word will not result in being banned from the /as channel. However, constant foul language, personal attacks or threats, put downs and overall bad conduct will be ended by either having an officer in that members guild restrict the /as access of the person commiting the violation or if that member guild refuses to have their member conform, they shall either be asked to remove the member from their guild or the alliance officership will come together to have a vote of a removal of the guild refusing to follow the accepted rules.

8. A member of a guild having an issue with their own officership needs to go to the officers of their guild and in the rare case to their GM, or to follow the procedure of their guild for handling issues. The alliance officership and leaders will not be the ones to handle any issues that a member of a guild within the alliance has with the rules of their respective guild or membership. If there is an issues with a member of one guild and the member of another guild and it CAN not be resolved between those two members, they can bring it to their GM, or to an alliance officer/delegate and we will get in to contact with the appropriate people to get that conflict resolved.

9. Every established alliance officer/delegate is required to register and persue (view) the alliance boards on a regular basis and every member of every member guild is encrouraged to do the same in order to get up to date information on the alliance and events.

10. Remember we are here to have fun, enjoy each others company and work together as brothers and sisters. This means respecting each others differences, simlilarties and the knowledge that each person can give. Everyone is encouraged to learn all they can from each other, to group together and enjoy the game.

11. Also as a conclusion, these rules apply to the forum boards as well as to the /as channel. And will be enforced. If you ever have a question feel free to seek out any of the officers listed on the officers page here on the forums.
