Are there any rules in Chermont regarding unoccupied/vacant houses?

My roommate is looking to move to AZ, but will leave her house unoccupied.  (That means I am out of a place to stay.)

Someone at work told me she will most likely have to pay an additional insurance.

It will also increase the opportunity for crime.

I just need some info on what we can expect.
