We have the Tempe Tool trailer this weekend and it is filled with an incredible array of tools including lawn mowers, weed-eaters and even a tiller. It is truly amazing to me how much the City has made available to us. So, come by, take a look. I plan on being there around 8:30am on Saturday to check out tools to the neighborhood. The trailer is located on the North East corner of 11th and Judd.

If anyone knows of someone in the neighborhood who might need yard help, please let us know and we’ll organize some help.

Also, we will be collecting household hazardous waste to take to Tempe’s waste disposal site.

     This was an excellent project!  Though we do not lack tools, having sharp loppers and a lightweight wheelbarrow made things so much easier.  Since the south side of  our block has no direct alley access, we have had things hard to discard of for years---long curtain rods, old plastic pipe, etc--taken to the dumpster.  Now just a little mowing, and the backyard will be mostly decent. 

   Thanks so much for your efforts,Marcia, and thanks to the board for approving this.  It would be nice to have this semiannually.  But next time, ask people to put things in more neatly and safely, as there are always gleaners who take advantage of the free stuff.  More power to them, as I hate to see things just hauled off to the dump when they just need a little fixing.  I know Mark will say this is illegal, but no identity theft was an issue (as far as I could see), or I would have asked the guy to leave.
