Yes I do agree your reply is a joke, it is not a funny joke but it is I assume your best attempt. Yes it is the government's responisiblity to collect taxes. But you may not have noticed but this is a free country and we have elected these officials to work for us. The government is not a forgien entity. We are the government, they exist with our tax dollars and are elected by us. If unpaid taxes are forclosed on then the primary lender MUST forclose also. So by not paying taxes you are running the risk of having your house taken. Having a forclosed home selling for 50K under market value just negates all of the money and effort I have spent on my home.
To address homeowners that cannot afford to maintain their property, they are a victims of poor lending habits and they should of never been allowed to purchase a home. They don't have the means to maintain the grounds or pay the taxes then the can't afford the property. Yes it is standards and my standards are (I feel) set to acceptable levels.
The "no I can't change things" is not where we are at, we can change our community.
To address my shutters, I didn't clean them, they were replaced.
It does suck about your neighbor selling for less, that hurts everyone. No snow removal that too sucks. I was going to pay a private plow service to clear my street but they were too busy to come out. I have a job to get to and they do not care or close if it is snowing or a State of Emergency(no they don't have to close). I do feel for your situation with loosing power. That is a horrible position to be in and then add inpassable roads on top of that. However, I didn't notice any power outages around my home.
When things are bad that is the time to stand up and speak out. I am not the ememy, I am a concerned citizen, homeowner, and father. If we do not hold our own community to standards who will? The reponsiblity is ours.
