while we are on the topic of new resources in surprise, besides the library and already operating city pool does anyone know of the other plans for that area, im aware of the baseball fields, will there be a playground area, outdoor theater... etc...

Downtown Information

The Surprise Community Park is scheduled to open during the summer of 2002. The park features a 5-acre lake, basketball and tennis courts, and a 6,000 square foot playground of dreams. Other amenities include sand volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, walking and biking trails, an ADA Field of Dreams and multi-purpose athletic fields.

Eventually, Surprise Center will also house a new City Hall facility, police headquarters, business and other ammenities.

In the surrounding areas, a Kohl's Department Store and Garcias are rumored to be built. I believe Kohl's is suppose to be behind the Diamond Shamrock and Garcia's Mexican Restaraunt in the same location or at Reems and Bell.

A Red Lobster and Olive Garden are rumored to be built on the West side of West Point Parkway, across from Target.

A movie theatre, restaraunts, retail shops and office buildings are rumored to be built on the South side of Bell Road between Litchfield and Reems.
