Unkept Common Areas

Posted in: W Point Towne Center
I think everyone needs to be aware of the lack of concern for the US Homes area on the common grounds. the picnic ramada still has a broken picnic table and several children have been using the tables as skateboard ramps also the playground is in a state of dis-repair. while there are no signs posted at the playground to verify the manufactures recommended ages the space seems unsuited for toddlers or children over 8-9 yrs old. therefore the safest ages are 5-8 for this equipment, with this in mind i tend to question why young adults are using the equipment as another skateboard park. also dave sobelman has replied numerous times he was working on getting the replacement part for the sliding board it is now october 13, 2002 and the repair has not been made.
i just think a little more attention to the common areas would make this a much nicer and safer place for everyone.
Stop complaining & do something

Why not pick up the phone and call the property management company to find out why the repairs haven't been made?

The picnic table is being used as a skateboard ramp because of negligent parents who aren't aware (and don't seem to care) that their children are destroying property so that they can have some fun. The HOA and the property management company are not the police. If you see children acting inappropriately, find out who they are, tell their parents and if you witnessed a crime of destruction - call the police.

As for a sign for age appropriate playground equipment - if you can't figure that out for youself, you shouldn't be a parent. At what public park do you ever see anything like that posted? And what makes you think that posting a sign would keep older kids off the equipment? The older kids are the ones who keep tearing down the caution tape. PARENTS - IT'S TIME TO TEACH YOUR CHILDREN RESECT AND RESPONSIBILITY............STOP BLAMING THE HOA AND PROPERTY MANAGEMENT COMPANY FOR YOUR LACK OF PARENTAL CONTROL.
follow up to all

just to follow up with some of you people, the property management company has been called and they seem very incompetent in making these repairs i first notified patty garman last april when i noticed the destruction.
if you go to any city of phoenix park they have the proper signage and this signage is manufactured and sold by the same company that makes and sells the equipment. if children can read then they are old enough to comprehend what the sign says and the mgnt co would have recourse for mis-use of the equipment. i assure you of this, feel free to check out the playground manufactuer website.
i am not property mgnt and i am not going to confront a child acting badly. that is what i pay my dues for and quite honestly i am tired of paying dues when nothing gets done.

Give it up already..

First of all... try punctuation. Your posts are incredibly hard to read as it's just one or two sentences that ramble on and on and on..... Next, seriously, most of us have a life and do not sit and home and fume over this most of the day as you appear to do. I will tell you this...I saw two teen-agers skating down the slide and using the picnic tables as ramps, etc. the other night. As soon as I saw them doing this, I asked them what the h*ll they thought they were doing and it seemed to scare the crap out of them. Yeah, this may do no good but if their parents won't do anything about it- I will. Don't tell me that you pay your dues so that the board members can patrol these areas and take care of it. I certainly wouldn't want the board members patrolling our areas with golf carts telling us what we can and cannot do. Been there, done that. Remember this?? (Anyone from the Randy era). Seriously, I'm calling Patti on Monday and I'll politely ask here about the playground equipment and I'll post it here on Monday. You see, rather than look up this manufactuer website and that city ordance, I'll simply be proactive and positive. I'll let you know.
