Boundaries Committee Letter

Posted in: San Gabriel

March 9, 2002

Dear Neighbors,

Do you believe that a neighborhood association could help you:

• Prevent crime?
• Slow the flow of traffic through your neighborhood?
• Address zoning issues?
• Improve the value of your property?
• Beautify you neighborhood?

Some of your neighbors do, and recently, two neighborhood associations were formed in your area:

• San Gabriel Neighborhood Association (SGNA) is bounded by Alvernon, Hayne, Bryant, and Paseo Dorado.
• Toumey Park Neighborhood Association (TPNA) is bounded by Columbus, 17th, Swan, and 22nd.

Because we dont want anyone to be left out, SGNA and TPNA have joined together to ask the residents near our neighborhoods how you feel about:

• Becoming part of one of these new associations, or
• Forming your own neighborhood association.

We invite you to attend one or more of the following meetings to find out more about what is going on in and around your neighborhood:

SGNA March Meeting March 13, 6:30 pm at Lineweaver School
Boundaries Committee Meeting March 21, 6:30 pm at Lineweaver School
TPNA April Meeting April ??, ?? at Bonillas School
SGNA April Meeting April 9, 6:30 pm at Lineweaver School

At the association-wide March and April meetings, you will get a chance to see how our associations conduct business and deal with neighborhood issues. At the Boundaries Committee Meeting, you will have a chance to express your opinions about becoming part of a neighborhood association.

We hope that you will attend one or more of these meetings, and we look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

The San Gabriel and Toumey Park Neighborhood Associations

TPNA Meeting

Bill, I believe that the TPNA meeting is on April 8 at Bonillas, but I am not sure about the time. Please advise.
Meeting time

My notes say 6:00 on April 8th at Bonillas, just in case we don't hear directly from William.

Great job!

The content and tone of this letter is excellent. It conveys everything we want them to consider, concisely.

A couple of proofing corrections: In the first set of bullets, please correct ''you'' to ''your''. In the paragraph after the second set of bullets, please correct ''dont'' to ''don't''.

Per my conversation with Kirk, there may be issues with the organizers in Palomar with distributing this flyer ... we should perhaps include a contact person inside Palomar for them to contact if they are interested in forming their own association. Could you get in touch with the lady Kirk spoke to, and see if she has input on this?

As we discussed at the meeting, even if they want to form their own association, we have offered our assistance. This flyer distribution could be our first effort in that direction, if she wants to avail herself of the publicity and manpower.
