Here is an email from one of our neighbors. Please be aware of unfamilar cars in the area:
It was several weeks ago and my neighbor and I were outside and a white van drove by. There were several children playing in the road and on the side walk. He drove by very slow and stared at every one of them. My neighbor who was also standing there looked at me and said did you just see that he stared at every child. A few moments later our two boys who were riding their bike and scooter around the circle came screaming Mom did you just see that white van. I said yes and he said he whistled at me and was driving on the wrong side of the road. Her son said the man waved at him and went to grab something in the passenger seat. We were unable to get a license plate number.
A week ago Friday I was driving down Southridge Drive and I had just passed the park and on my left side I saw a green Ford Escort 2 door maybe a 98 model siting at the stop sign at the entrance to the new area. The driver was reading a paper and the passenger was watching the children that were playing in front of a house unattended. I went to the next road and sat at the stop sign. Once the two men saw me sitting there they drove off. I got behind them and got their license plate number and called 911. By the time they got me connected with the Belmont police department they were getting on I-85, and were out of Belmontʼs jurisdiction.
