Graffiti Prevention and Removal

How to Avoid Graffiti

Graffiti is vandalism that affects the appearance of the entire community. If you build a wall, consider uneven or rough-texture finishes. Cactus landscaping in front of walls can be a deterrent. Light your property - especially around walls. Neighborhood partnerships can help in working with the City of Tucson to "adopt" frequently tagged walls or wash areas. For information on partnerships, contact Levonne Gaddy at 791-4605.

Removing Graffiti

Remove graffiti as quickly as possible. Commercial graffiti removal products and water can remove some graffiti. If you need assistance, call the City of Tucson at 792-CITY. Don't attempt to paint electrical equipment or communication boxes. Ask permission before painting someone else's property.

Report Graffiti

If you see someone making graffiti, call 911. Report graffiti on the city infoline at 792-CITY, or by email or webpage, below.
