I like them. They are a reminder to drivers, including myself , to slow down. Although as more and more development occurs in the area placing more drivers on the streets, the more they will simply ignore the signs. We need more stop signs, speed bumps, etc., anything to deter drivers from using the street in the first place but the city transportation division fights these ideas for its their job to move traffic. They really don’t care if it is through a neighborhood.
The only way to ensure preservation of a neighborhood in the downtown area is to form an improvement district and tax oneself (residents living in the district) to maintain the district. What do you think of that idea?
