FLOODING ISSUES-RIVERSIDE

Posted in: Riverside Heights Civic Association - Crime Watch
Neighbors, it was determined at our Sept. 12th Neighborhood Meeting that we wanted to gather information on what Flooding experiences taking place in our Neighborhood, so we can document these, in unity as we go to the City and ask for solutions to these problems.

Please feel free to post here on our site your concerns and comments and send them directly to our Secretary, Traci Turbeville at tturbevi@health.usf.edu

Flooding Issues

I have been in contact with the stormwater department on numerous occasions over the last week.
They have requested that people call Jasmine Arenas at 274-7221 she will document all calls regarding on going flooding issues in our area. Please take the time to call Ms. Arenas with our ongoing concerns.
Thank you
flooding problems

Two areas that are a problem: Ridge at Woodlawn (there is a pond here for days after it rains); Ridge at MLK after heavy rain (the drain here is inadequate to handle the runoff coming off the bridge).

Flooding Issues

First off I apologize for not making it down to the meetings.

I live at 802 West Adalee Street and let me say that after some of those rains we have, I should be living at 802 West Adalee River, or Lake Adalee. We have two drainage tanks, one on each corner. Both can not handle those rains, the man hole cover is forced up and it looks like a geyser is ready to blow. I have some pictures of that last blast and will post here to the message board.

Can't the city just clean those out? It may or may not help. If not, I am seriously going to find out if I can get a permit to have a curb set up around my property. I'm sure it will not solve the problem, but it may help me out. Every blade of grass is under water on my property after one of those rains. I'm just glad my house is built up 2.5 feet.

Thanks,
Greg Duffy
