WARNING

**Possible Criminal Activity Alert**

There have been reports of a man going to houses in Ridgefield and surrounding neighborhoods, asking for help with strange requests. He is a suspect in breaking and entering crimes in neighboring communities.  The police are aware of the situation and have passed out fliers notifying neighbors.  The Ridgefield HOA wants to ensure all residents know about this situation.  This notice is to give all of Ridgefield information needed to protect our homes and families from this predator.  Please read the information below, and then report any suspicious activity to the Durham Police. 

Known Activity (as reported by neighbors)

• Approaches homes, asking for money for various reasons or asks to be let in the house to make a phone call
• Has asked for a ride
• Appears to be targeting women who are home alone
• Has been confirmed to have been on Knightwood Dr., Fielding Court, and Statler Dr.
• Approaches homes at different times, but often in the afternoon and late at night.

Description (as reported by neighbors)

• Caucasian male
• mid20s
• dark sandy blond hair, almost light-brown; short hair;
• 5’ 7”
• Thin build

What to do

• If he is at your door, - Call 911
• If you see him around the neighborhood, or observe suspicious activity - Call 911
• If you have any information, Call Durham police and contact the Ridgefield HOA

• Don’t open your door at odd hours

The HOA is working to protect you.  The HOA Board is in the process of ordering No Trespassing, No Soliciting, and No Loitering signs to be placed at the entrances of our community to help deter this type of behavior in the future.
