As some of you may or not know, I work for Kimberly Clark Co. in Mobile, AL.  Recently we have constructed a recycled fiber facility which takes books, magazines, newspapers, etc. and transforms the material into toilet paper and paper towels.  The facility achieves two things - it consumes a lower cost material to make the same fine products and as a result passes the savings along to the consumer.  In addition, the more recycled paper this facility (and others around the globe) consume, the less "virgin fiber" is consumed (which comes from Canada's Ancient Boreal forests, Pine Trees native to our area, and Eucalyptus trees from Brazil) and helps preserver out environment for future generations.

I would like to start a program for our neighborhood which collects newspapers, books, magazines, envelopes, etc.  If interested, please segregate these materials from your normal household garbage and collect them seperately in a cardboard box or trash bag.  The materials can be placed on my driveway at 7409 North Lake drive every Saturday.  I will then transport the material to our facilty to be used in creating "Green products" which help our environment.

If you would like to contribute, please give me a call at 621-2419 to discuss.

Thanks,

Chad Hackett
