DON'T GET IN THE "POOP" WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR PETS

Follow rules, avoid fines

Pets can be wonderful, if their owners aren’t irresponsible. Citations
and fines can be issued if owners violate ordinances regarding
animals.

Litter.
You must pick up after your dog. Carry a baggie or other wrapper with you all the feces must be removed immediately. For disposal, pet waste should be double wrapped and put in the green garbage cart. Citizens reporting litter incidents should report them to the Department of Neighborhood Services at
286-2268. If known, provide the address of the animal owner.

Leash.
Animals, when not confined on the owner’s property or in a vehicle, must be on a leash not more than 6 feet in length. Stray animals should be reported to the Milwaukee Domestic Animal Control at 649-8640.

Barking.
Barking complaints must be submitted in writing to the Department of Neighborhood Services, 1673 S. 9th St., Milwaukee, 53204. The complainant must provide their name and address and be willing to testify in court if the owner of the animal ignores an order to stop the noise.
