Palo Verde Park Neighborhood Watch

It appears that a woman was hit while walking in the street near the corner of E Baseline and E Jacob. This woman was hit by a school bus. I am not sure if she was a resident of the neighborhood or if she is safe. We have her in our prayers and will push strongly for rapid response to our sidewalk installation. Untill then, please be cautious in the street, as there are far too many speeders!

Need for Sidewalks - Speeding

It's only been a couple of years since I followed a school bus up 82nd Street clocking it at 50 mph -- double the posted speed limit.

This incident underscores the need for speed humps in our neighborhood as well as sidewalks.

I've stressed to the City of Mesa that it isn't a matter of ''if'' rather a matter of ''when'' someone is driven over in this neighborhood. I guess we can all quit waiting. Next question is ''when will a child be killed by a reckless driver while playing in the street?''
