The circle on the island has had sprinklers for years and this nice green oasis is a great lush spot. But ever since I have been on the board, we have spent several hundred dollars each season to repair broken sprinkler heads.

How do they break?

It seems that since there is limited parking in this area cars inevitably end up parking on the grass and inevitably sprinker heads get broken. We just repaired them in June to the tune of $170 and now after July 3rd there are again broken heads.

In all the other green spaces here at Ginger Cove the only other spot on common ground that we have sprinklers is at the entrance (and we repair these, too). The grass across from my house grows fine without water and goes dormant in the heat and comes back after a rain. So why isn't this good enough for the grass circle on the island?

Besides who is paying for the water? Do the homes around the circle want to organize, manage and subsidize this effort?
