Say "howdy neighbor!"....

Posted in: Camelot - Garland

Neighbors...take time to meet the family next door to your home.  Get to know their names and their contact numbers. Why share this information?  What if they see a work truck at your garage door one day where belongings are being loaded into the truck.   On that same day you are enjoying a cruise in the Gulf of Mexico.  Instead of wondering if these workers are legitimate, your neighbor can call the house to check on you or they can call the police knowing you are on holiday.  The police don't mind these calls because being pro-active is being a good neighbor.

Rental houses.... they become vacant and become eye-sores.  If the the property is not being maintained, neighbors should call the Garland code department to cite the owners.  The same action holds true for homes for sale which have uncut grass cut or broken windows.  The Garland Code department takes calls annonymously at (972) 485-6400.  Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The following information will be asked of each caller:

  • The address or location of the concern or violation,
  • Description of violation, such as high grass, trash, junk vehicle,
  • Any additional information that would help the inspector.
