From the Courier Journal today:

The new plan includes $231.5 million that Beshear proposed in federal highway spending for the next two years on the Louisville bridges project.

Also included among the scores of Jefferson County projects listed is $26.6 million for construction beginning this summer of an interchange on the Watterson Expressway at Westport Road.

Traffic is going to be terrible in about a month, and lasting 2 years.

Wouldn't it be great if there was another access point to the neighborhood besides Westport Road? If Westport Road was ever out of commission (or traffic-jammed due to construction), Woodlawn Park residents would just be stuck here.

Can we build an alley through behind Walden school for temporary passage into the Kroger lot until this is all over?

FYI.. The project award for the overpass and widening the section of Westport Road along Woodlawn Park has been postponed from June 2008 to August 2008.
