Neighborhood Watch

Be aware that we are having a rash of burglaries in the Golden Meadows Neighborhood.  A stroller was stolen from a home on Attleboro Court and a home on Torrington Court was burglarized recently. 

As a reminder:

*keep all doors and windows locked when not at home.

*Keep your porch/yard lights on at night.

*Close your garage doors.

*Lock your vehicles.

*Notify the police department if you notice and suspicious activity.

*Help your neighbors by observing their property.

*Keep the neighborhood informed by posting any known incidents on this website's discussion area.

Lets all keep our eyes open for ourselves as well as our neighbors. Be sure to let them know when your out of town. I have noticed an increase in the number of people driving by and looking inside garages that are left open. A lot of us own dogs who bark when strangers approach and I have started paying more attention rather than thinking "why doesnt that dog be quiet" ?

A lot of people coming to the door with bogus claims of doing research or soliciting for youth programs.  Don't open your door for anyone unless they are willing to show ID first, and make sure your kids are instructed not to open the door to strangers PERIOD! Yes - if you yell through the closed door to ask for ID, they will hear you.

In March of this year I had an iPod stolen out of my van.  It was the one time I forgot to lock the side door to the garage.  I now lock the garage AND the cars in the garage.  The thiefs are out there!
