I really dont like how this site is set up anymore.  The newest postings should be the first you read.  I dont want to read about some loose dogs from 3 days ago....

Are there enough people in the area to make up a Yahoo news group or some other site you can go to and read the latest "gossip" about any criminal activity in the area ??

I am on David's mailing list (for those who recognize that)  It covers a large area.

I am in the Orange Zone if you keep up with the Colonial Acres zone map.  I live in the block between Quince and Willow and Perkins and White Station.  Are there any computer savvy neighbors in the area that could create an online bulletin board?

Right now I have an agreement with all the neighbors around me that is working.

They have permission to call the police to my house if they see anything out of the ordinary or just does not look right and I am instructed to do the same.....

I would rather apologize for calling the cops on someone they know as opposed to saying I am sorry for sitting back and watching their house get robbed...

rich63-

This new Discussion Forum does take a little getting used to but has some advantages.

Actually the newest postings are listed first, according to the time stamp  on the bottom right side of the post.  The time/date stamp on the bottom left side is from the original post.

I think the idea of a supplemental web site for posting info is not a bad idea.   Let's think about it and look around.  Google Groups may be a possibility, Yahoo, etc.   I'm in the Orange Zone too.

Since you're already organized into an informal Neighborhood Watch group, come to the monthly Colonial Acres Neighborhood Association mtg Thu, Apr 24 at 7m at Colonial Baptist and pick up some Neighborhood Watch decals we've ordered for folks to use.  They're $1 for 3 (4.5 x 3.5") static cling decals which feature the new Neighborhood Watch logo shown here:  http://nnwi.org/ipd3_ipd6.asp   You can put them on the windows or doors of your house, shed, etc. as a deterrent.  Also, if your group will meet with a police officer on 2 occasions, you can be set up as an official Neighborhood Watch group and be eligible for 2 Neighborhood Watch signs for your street when the signs become available again.

Great job of getting organized on your own.   I did the same on my end of Cranford last yr, we met with a police officer twice and we're on the list to get our signs put up.

We do need to watch out for each other.

Clarification - You are correct about each discussion topic showing the oldest posts first and that is awkward and seems backwards.

In my comment above, I was referring to the Discussion Forum opening page, which lists first the posts which have been updated most recently.

Maybe if we write to Neighborhood Link about this, they'll fix it.

I emailed Neighborhood Link about this issue.  I mentioned that the order of comments should run chronologically, from the most recent (first) to oldest (last) under each Discussion topic.  I'll post any reply I get so we'll know if this is how the Discussion Forum entries will be ordered from now on.
