Lisha Garcia announced her resignation today from the Neighborhood Services Department of the City of Mesa. Lisha is looking forward to the new opportunities thaServices Manager resignst have entered her life.

Garcia issued a statement saying, "I am proud of the accomplishments the department has achieved while I have been here, including the wrap up of two Opportunity Zones, the Alston House, the funding of the Small Business Development Center in Downtown Mesa, and two successful Neighborhood Conferences. In addition, the value of Human Services funding has been embraced by the community, as has the value of Code Compliance in Neighborhood preservation."

Lisha's statement continues, "I leave the department with good leadership, a strategic plan for moving forward and a successful transition to Activity Based Budgeting."

"I want to especially thank the Division Directors in Neighborhood Services for their hard work, upbeat attitude and their excellent work ethic. I shall miss the City of Mesa, but will continue with the many friends and alliances I have made in the last two years. I am eternally grateful for the many e-mails, calls, flowers and support I have received from many internal and external partners."

In response to Lisha's resignation, Deputy City Manager Paul Wenbert commented, "I appreciated Lisha's commitment and passion to providing the best possible services in a time of reduced federal and local resources.
