Just this morning at the Park RIGHT by the dog run two piles of dog waste outside of the run. Oh and a couple that put there dogs in the run and went for a run themselves leaving the dogs alone in the run. Lastly, someone walking there dog off leash. There is a leash law and if one is going to disregard that your dog should be healing you and not wandering all over the place. I don't understand all this abuse of this great little neighborhood park we have.

I have dogs and carry bags and pick up after them; that is what everyone needs to do. It pollutes our drinking water; it is a non-point source pollutant. All the surface water in our neighborhood goes into a storm drain, which goes directly into our river. Stormwater does not go through a 'treatment facility' but back into the watershed to end up as our drinking water. ONe can go to City of Tempe Storm water website for more information and to download the Pet WAste and other storm water brochures.

I can't stress enough that people need to be picking up after their pets. Don't leave it on the sidewalk, road, alley or your neighbor's yard and DEFINITELY don't leave it Mitchell Park or any park. I have tried to pick up waste at the park and it's overwhelming how much there is and how many people think the Park is their dogs own personal potty.  I hate to see what their yards look like if they don't like to pick it up. I don't want my daughter rolling around or even running around in the grass because of the fact there is soo much pet waste that people have not picked up. Owners need to keep their dogs on leash or at least pay attention to what their dog is DOOOIng. Isn't the park for kids and others to play in? Why do I have worry about dog waste all over the place?

My thought is we adopt Mitchell Park and keep it clean not just of dog waste but trash and other stuff.  Any thoughts on how we can decrease the amount of pet waste in the park and everywhere. I had a gift in my yard yesterday and see it in my neighbors yard...come on folks how inconsiderate and rude that is not to pick it up from your neighbors yard....

I could just go on but one last thing....if it's unpleasant to pick up think how unpleasant it is to drink it....

Thanks for your time and please excuse any word or grammar errors
