Hawks active in April -- 3 at a time sighted from golf course/greenway as far as Draper. Herons must be nesting, not seen much recently. Wild geese return to golf course pond every evening at dusk. Look for bluebirds at both Arnold Dr. greenway entrance and school entrance. ***wood ducks are back in the creek!

Baby ducks!!

6 of 'em seen following their mama. Sighted at greenway bridge headed upstream.
owls, finches

very large owl (type unknown) spotted leaving outdoor classroom at school headed for creek tributary area.
American finch (bright yellow) are enjoying rudbeckia (yellow daisy) seeds in the 'hood so don't cut off seedheads, leave 'em for the birds.

December herons

Dec. 2006
Several reports of herons near creek tributary, Farmington, Covington Oaks. Remember to look UP, herons nest in treetops and early morning seems to be time of most frequent sightings. The redtail hawks also like morning, then again in early evening, they have a screechy-type call.
