COMMUNITY YARD SALE

A Community Yard Sale has been held in the past in Meadowbrook, and the Board would like to know if the neighborhood wants to continue this tradition. The Sale would need a volunteer to head the operation. If homeowners are interested in participating in a yard sale, the Board will take action to make it happen. Please attend the Annual Meeting schedule for April 27 or contact VPM to voice an opinion on the matter.

ARC

Any changes or improvements to the exterior of houses or landscaping need the approval of the Architectural Review Committee. The ARC meets the first Tuesday of every month. Please submit your requests to Vision Property Management prior to the meeting and obtain an Architectural Improvement Application and Review Form.

CRIME REPORT

Meadowbrook has been relatively quiet the past month. Most of the problems reported deal with graffiti. Unfortunately, graffiti has been occurring more and more in the neighborhood and other parts of the community. The high volume of graffiti keeps removal companies busy. The Board discussed ways to lessen the time it takes to have graffiti removed at the March meeting. They hope to make a contract with a company to come immediately after graffiti is discovered and get rid of it. Homeowners can help with the problem as well by reporting suspicious behavior to the police department. Some residents hesitate to call the sheriff?’s office because they do not want to get involved, but callers can be anonymous if they choose to be.

Vandals have also been destroying the wall located on the wash at Moonbrook. Bricks are being knocked completely out, costing the Association a lot of money for repairs to be made. If those responsible are caught, it is possible they would be required to pay restitution for the damage done. Please be alert and notify the police of any suspicious activity in that area.

If you notice any criminal activity, notify the Sheriff?’s Office immediately at 741-4900. Following your report, please call Patty at 293-5467 to include the crime in the next issue of Meadowbrook News.

KINDERGARTEN ROUNDUP

Kindergarten Roundup will be held at Lulu Walker Elementary on April 16 and 17. If your child will be entering Kindergarten in the fall, this is the time for you and your child to visit the school and meet one of the teachers. Call the school at 696-6510 the week before (the week of April 8) to make an appointment for informal testing. You will need to have your child?’s birth certificate and immunization record as well as a proof of residency, such as a current utility bill or rent receipt, when registering your child.

MORE SPEED HUMPS?

Signs covered with black garbage sacks on Oracle Jaynes Station/Rudasill mark the locations of two, soon-to-be, speed humps. The humps are scheduled to go in around March 25. Michael Moore, from the Department of Transportation, reported that the additional speed humps will be paid for by the Soto Mayor Ranch housing development, just north of Meadowbrook. Moore explained that this is a traffic calming project from part of an original agreement with Soto Mayor Ranch when they first agreed to put in a new development.

BE COURTEOUS AT THE BUS STOP

Waiting for the school bus is a part of many residents weekday. Parents and children, please remember to be courteous of the property surrounding the bus stops. Do not sit on other homeowners?’ fences or property. Do not litter. Please treat nearby home with respect.

POOL UPDATE

It was reported at the March Board meeting that no problems arose during the pool?’s replastering process. The heat is now on and the pool is once again open for swimming, but some future work still remains. The Board just approved a bid from Carefree Cleaning and Home Repairs to power wash and repair the deck area. Plans to spruce up the surrounding landscape are also being considered.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Letters will be sent out to homeowners to notify them of the meeting and to remind them to sent in their proxy.

ADDITIONAL BOARD MEMBERS

Three Board Members?’ terms are up this year. Melanie Bright and Doug Myers have agreed to run for another term, but Olivia Browne has asked to have her name taken off of the ballot. This leaves an open spot that needs to be filled. The Board was already short on numbers with only five members. Anyone interested in becoming a Board Member should attend the Annual Meeting or contact VPM.
