Short Term Training Is The Key For Restoring Our Village

I'd like to share my thoughts on the state of
'residential housing repair, maintenance and working class youth in the village of Maywood.

We have taught many young men a thing or two about painting, decorating and home repair techniques in the village of Maywood.As well we have known and worked for some of the finest painting / home renovation contractors in the Oak Park - River Forest area. Possibly the home of some of the most innovative house painters & craftsmen in this country.

The primary reason that I'm sharing the above information with you is this. Over the years I have informed the people of the village of Maywood, that we should focus town resources on training local youth to repair properties in this village and hopefully surrounding towns.

It may sound unbelievable to more recent folks, but if one thing is certain, it is this.Most So-called decent, well meaning ( I think ) folks stood by and or never raised a thumb to assist my many efforts to creativety infuse a systematic skills training process in this village.

If Booker T. Washington or Mary McCloud-Bethune had not believed in black folks skill & abilities. So many great tradesmen and educators would not have followed in their footsteps.

Fact is, I've conducted and recorded many home repair seminars & lectures in Oak Park - Maywood - Chicago....On radio and in person.
