New Service on City Website Provides Information

Information on Tampa?’s Neighborhoods

Tampa, Fla. (June 25, 2007) – The City of Tampa’s Technology and Innovation Department, along with the Neighborhood and Community Relations Division, has launched a new, interactive service featuring information on Tampa’s organized neighborhoods on the City of Tampa’s website www.tampagov.net.

This innovative component, titled Find a Neighborhood, is available from the neighborhood page and provides up-to-date information on Tampa’s neighborhoods. Web visitors can select a specific neighborhood by clicking on the neighborhood from a map, entering an address, selecting a name from a menu of organized associations, or entering a neighborhood name.

The service provides comprehensive coverage of every organized neighborhood within the City of Tampa including neighborhood association contacts, neighborhood meeting schedules, pictures, area demographics, land use and printable maps. The service also highlights unique neighborhood characteristics such as Tampa City Council districts, evacuation and flood zones, hospitals, libraries, parks and schools.

This new component on the website was created by the City of Tampa in collaboration with the many neighborhood associations who provided information about their area.

For additional information, please contact Shannon Edge, Neighborhood & Community Relations director, at (813) 274-7835.
