Citing potential intimidation, North Carolina elections board forbids stationing uniformed police at polls

 

 

RALEIGH, N.C. — The State Board of Elections has told local elections officials not to have uniform police or sheriff’s deputies at polling places when voting starts this week in North Carolina.

I can't recall a presidential election that there was not a uniformed officer inside the voting site at some point during the day.   I know as Chief Judge when I was working we didn't call them in.  They just showed up.  .    

Wonder what makes it dangerous all of a sudden in 2020???
