A recent update by Microsoft Corporation is causing issues with the Mecklenburg County Electronic Plan Management (EPM) web application. The update is causing a blue field to appear on several of the tabs in the application when using Internet Explorer. The blue field blocks both content and access to the web content behind the field. This issue is occurring on both Windows 7 and Windows 10 operating systems. Below is an example of the problem:

EPM Dashboard

Code Enforcement staff are working with EPM's developer to correct this issue and we hope to arrive at a permanent solution quickly. In the meantime, you may be able to access the EPM site with another browser such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to see the hidden information. Most of EPM's functions work with the alternate browsers, except for viewing the application, which can only be done in Internet Explorer.

Here's a temporary procedure for viewing the application:

  • Get the project number while viewing EPM in Chrome or Firefox.
  • Sign out of EPM with Chrome of Firefox.
  • Sign into EPM with Internet Explorer.
  • Go to the search tab.
  • Type in the project number and hit the enter key.
  • The project will show up at the top of the window above the blue field.
  • Click on the project number to open the project in EPM
  • Click on the "Application" link to open.
