The BIG Spring Clean Needs You!

Hello,

We need your help! Site coordinators will provide student participation slips the day of the event; awarding hour for hour worked, up to four (4) hours. Brief details about the event are outlined below:

??‹Be part of the solution to water pollution!
An enormous amount of trash gets into our streams and lakes from storm drains, flooded yards, and illegal dumping. Trash degrades recreation areas, harms wildlife, and looks terrible for our community. We need your help!

What's it like to participate?
Watch this Video??‹ that students from Central Piedmont Community College made in 2009 about their experience in the annual clean up event formerly called Big Sweep.

History
From the early 1990s until 2015, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services (CMSWS) hosted a??‹n annual one-day clean up event called Big Sweep. It was part of clean up events coordinated across NC by the nonprofit NC Big Sweep that dissolved in 2015. In 2016, CMSWS renamed the event The Big Spring Clean and partnered with Keep Mecklenburg Beautiful to begin hosting it on the second Saturday in May each year.
