KCB Special Grant - And the Winner Is!

Posted in: Madison Park

I learned this am that Madison Parks application for the KCB special Beautification Grant was selected as their winner.  We scored the highest out of 20 neighborhood applications that were submitted.    Applications are scored similar to Matching Grants.

This fall more trees and some large outdoor planters will be added to Madison Central Park.

Thanks to Russell Hodge for helping me put the application together this year for the HOA.

Also Thanks to Lowes Home Improvement in Dilworth for providing us a discount on the items we will be buying from them this fall.

This grant will provide just over $2000 in improvements to the Park.

Valerie Delby our 2014 president is working through the Grant we were awarded in the fall of Sept. 2013 which was a special partnership grant between Madison Park Neighborhood and Pinewood Elementary.   We earned 8K last spring after we attending a special retreat with Pinewood Staff, Students, and Madison Park residents.   Over the next two weeks two more picnic tables and 2 more benches will be added to Madison Central Park as part of that 8K grant.

If you look under pages on this site at Pinewood Community Partnership Summit Recap you can review the retreat info from that special 8K grant retreat that was held last spring.

Congratulations!

Madison Park HOA has been selected by Keep Charlotte Beautiful to receive funding for your Beautification Project. As I mentioned to you, this year Keep Charlotte Beautiful received 20 applications with a total request of $82,031.39, with project proposals ranging from community entrance beautifications to park walkways.

All the applications were worthy and the Keep Charlotte Beautiful board wish they could fund them all so their decision was a difficult one to make.

These are the 2 winning projects:

Madison Park Homeowners Association - “Madison Central Park Beautification Shade”   $1,913.81

College Downs Community Association -  “Making the Old New Again in College Downs” $2,808.70

Please allow a few days for you to hear from me regarding next steps to take (contract signing, invoicing, etc.).

Congratulations again, I look forward to working with you on your project!
