Moments ago, the Republican majority in the House sent Senate Bill 2, a law that allows magistrates to refuse marrying same-sex couples, to Governor McCrory’s desk.

I voted no on SB2 because discrimination has no place in North Carolina.

This bill will end up in the courts wasting hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars. Raleigh needs leaders who think jobs and education are better investments than lawsuits. That’s why I need you to invest $15, $25, or $50 today to send me back to Raleigh to focus on growing our local economy and investing in our teachers and kids.

You sent me to Raleigh to deal with the critical issues facing our state. You didn’t send me here to debate divisive social issues that don’t result in a better economic or educational future for our state.

It’s essential that we return legislators to Raleigh who are focused on growing our local economy and public school system in 2016. Please invest in my efforts today with $15, $25, or $50 to help return me to Raleigh to fight for common sense issues.
