Beat the Heat at a Park and Rec Outdoor Pool or Sprayground
If you are looking for a fun and affordable way to stay cool this summer, then visit a Park and Recreation outdoor pool or sprayground. Facilities open for the season Memorial Day weekend. Pool admission is $1 and spraygrounds are free.
Spraygrounds will operate Friday, May 22 – Monday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
Outdoor pools, which include Cordelia, 2100 N. Davidson St. and Double Oaks, 1200 Newland Road, will operate on a weekend schedule from Saturday, May 23 – Sunday, Sept. 6 and a weekday schedule from Monday, June 12 – Friday, Aug. 21.

If you are looking to hit the links this spring, then grab your clubs and head to a Mecklenburg County golf course or practice facility. The department offers several public golf facilities and programs for all ages at great rates.

Fitness, Music and More: Romare Bearden Park Offers Something for Everyone this Spring
Whether you are looking to get in shape, listen to a little music or party, Romare Bearden Park has you covered. Grab your friends and family and join us for one (or several) of our great events:
Music Box Lunch
Features solo artists or small combos that provide a mellow musical background for those who enjoy lunchtime in the beautiful surroundings of Romare Bearden Park. Tuesdays and Fridays from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Party in the Park
Free weekly music concerts that make Romare Bearden Park the place to be on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. This “Uptown Sound” series features different genres of music, including Party Bands, Jazz and Rock, Country and Carolina Beach Music and exciting Tribute Bands.

Features a variety of free fitness classes including Bootcamp, Zumba, Yoga and much more!
