Volunteer now for Pinewood Freedom School

Dear Congregation,

FREEDOM SCHOOL PINEWOOD 2015 starts on June 17th!  Freedom School is a six-week summer literacy and character building program at our partner school, Pinewood Elementary.  
WE NEED YOU  to support one of our largest outreach projects. Freedom School is an INTERGENERATIONAL opportunity for the entire church to embrace. Opportunities include:
  • READERS:  lunch buddy and Harambee (opening ceremony).
  • FIELD TRIP CHAPERONES: CPCC Forensic Lab, Panther Stadium tour and theater performances to name a few.
  • AFTERNOON ACTIVITY LEADER: Share a skill or use a pre-planned lesson.
  • ONE TIME OPPORTUNITIES: Set up and breakdown site, Finale, Jubilee.
VOLUNTEER TRAINING  - Wednesday, May 20th at SHARON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 4411 Sharon Road.  6:00 dinner; 6:45 training program.  RSVP to Cheri Lindblom, clindblom@mpbconline.org.

Madison Park HOA applied for a Neighborhood Matching Grant to get this Freedom school at Pinewood Elementary off the ground.    Freedom school is a 3 year partnership project.   If you can volunteer for this summers Freedom School at Pinewood sign up now through the Pinewood Partnership Churches sign up.  

 

Our Grant is closed out for the Freedom School, but our obligation to support the school with volunteers is still open.
