Just finished that ice cold bottle of soda? Before you toss the bottle in the recycling bin, twist the top off and drop it in the garbage. Yes, the garbage!

Plastic lids, caps and tops aren't recyclable in the Recycle it! program.

Why?

Lids, caps and tops are too small to be processed at our recycling facility. If they get in the system they can become a projectile and potentially harm someone and/or cause a breakdown in equipment.

So, before you recycle that bottle, twist that top and toss it in the garbage!
