Hazard Mitigation Plan

It's unlikely that we’ll have to defend against a zombie apocalypse, but there’s one thing we can learn from the dozens of movies and television shows depicting the takeover of the undead: preparedness is essential.

Join us for the second community meeting to assist Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management in updating the County’s multi-jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP).

Tuesday, Dec. 16
5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
Huntersville Town Hall (101 Huntersville-Concord Rd.)
Mitigation strategy will be presented and receive public feedback on mitigation goals and proposed actions.

The HMP is the foundation for a community's long-term strategy to reduce disaster loss. The plan update process allows jurisdictions to identify policies and actions that can be implemented over the long-term to reduce risk and future losses.

In addition to attending the meeting, you can contribute to the plan by taking a brief survey to provide feedback on how we can prepare for potential hazards.

Visit the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management webpage to learn more about the HMP and upcoming public involvement opportunities.
