All I know is I pay more for water since we switched to that new system. About double or more every single month. I use hardly any water a month.
Same with trash. We pick up trash and remove illegal signs along our Adopt A Streets. I do this often and put the trash in my personal can. Why should I be charged for doing a good deed.
Trucks barely get the trash removed on the correct day now. How can they slow the process down by forcing the drivers to keep up with what is in a can, or what size can they are dumping. Trash will end up in the green recycling cans, thrown out along streets, and dumped in parks. It will result in Keep Charlotte Ugly instead of Beautiful.
Council needs to be flooded with Citizens voices saying NO not in Charlotte. I am sure if the citizens of these cities where the system is in place were interviewed and not the leaders, we would hear all kinds of nightmare stories.
Again recycling yes. Charge those folks that don't recycle. Don't charge the citizens for trash that varies on a weekly basis in their personal trash cans Most weeks I have 1/2 bag in my roll can. There are though a few weeks when my can is full. I also don't mind my neighbors currently tossing in an extra bag, but that might change if I had to pay by the number of bags. I don't want to be told where to buy my trash bags. I like my current Aldi trash bag just fine. People can't control the amount of waste they create, outside of recycling. So trash is still going to come in at the same amount. It is just going to get disbursed in places outside of the proper pick up container weekly.
They also need to put a stop to SC residents dumping for free in the Fox Hole containers. Something I learned about this month at a Mecklenburg Waste Management Board Advisory Meeting. Why are we paying with our tax dollars for trash removal of any SC citizen? Apparently some residents are paying people with pickups to remove their trash in SC, and it is coming to the Fox Hole free, and being put in public waste containers that then must be hauled to the Speedway Landfill on our County $'s. The county is going to attempt to limit this to one dump a day per truck. Some drivers are coming in 2 or 3 times a day with loads from SC. I say that is NUTS!
