This is Recycling Green Can week. Pickup 11/12/14

Posted in: Madison Park

For all our new neighbors:

This is a recycling can week.    If you have trouble remembering the schedule print a calendar from the link on our home web page.   Green recycling cans go out just every other week for pick up.    Do not place bagged items in your green cans or throw in trash.

Trash in your gray cans should be bagged.

Bulk goes out only when scheduled through 311, and no sooner than the day prior to scheduled pickup.

Yard waste goes out the day prior to pick up like your cans.

Use the link on the home page of this web site for prep tips, and other helpful info that will help ensure the waste is picked up.   Info was also included in the minutes for Oct. 2014 for Yard Waste Prep.

Remember to remove your cans by midnight pick up day.  If you are not going to be around ask a neighbor to grab your can off the street for you.

Fines for curb it start at $50, and can involve the cost of removing waste if contracted for removal by city.

See tips on web site home page for the top code enforcement 311 complaints.  Avoid a letter or fine from codes.   Most of these have something to do with waste.

Remember you can place your cans, sheduled bulk, and yard waste out anytime the day prior to pick-up.    They can go out on the actual pickup day as well up until 6:30 am.   Make sure to prep the yard waste correctly to ensure it is picked up.   See the link on our web site on how to prep your yard waste.

Bags should not be tied and left open.   Create small piles and space all waste at least 3 feet apart.   Doing this will help ensure it is picked up.

Remember commercial contractors must remove any waste they create while working on your yards.

The recycling calendar can be found under links near the top under helpful tips.

Looks like Londonderry has been missed again in the 5200 and 5300 blocks for yard waste.

My neighbor said she tried to call to alert 311, and they said she had to call back at 7:00 PM.

Unless the trucks come with search lights not sure how they would see the waste at night anyway.

Remember if you are missed just call 311 and report the missed pick up.  Drivers have until 7 PM to pick up.   That makes sure the code inspector is aware.  Dennis normally will be able to tell looking at the block or street if it was missed for a curb it service, when he is out the morning after pickups looking for violations.
