Second Annual Holiday Light Ball Event 9 to Noon

Second Annual Holiday Light Ball Event – Saturday, 11/08/2014 from 9am to Noon – Please Read and Respond

Dear Madison Park Neighbors, I am excited to provide you with the details of the Second Annual Charlotte Shines Holiday Light Ball making event.  If you were part of last year’s inaugural event where over 50 members of the Madison Park and Montclaire community came together in fellowship to make over 140 holiday light balls I look forward to seeing you again this year.  If you were not able to make it last year or if you wondered where all those beautiful holiday light balls hanging in your neighbors trees came from well now you know.

The specifics of this year’s event are as follows:

Event Date – Saturday, November 8, 2014

Event Time – 9am to noon

Event Location – Madison Central Park, 805 Seneca Place which is the property located to right of Pinewood Elementary School

For each ball you intend on making:

1)      Please bring a string of at least 200 mini Christmas tree lights.  I recommend that you bring one 200 mini light string or two 100 mini light strings per ball rather than four 50 mini light strings.  I have personally confirmed with various retailers that mini lights are now in stock.  You are welcome to select the light string color of your choice.

2)      Please bring $5 per ball which provides you the ball wire, zip ties, electrical tape and instructions.

To insure we have an adequate amount of time to purchase the materials please email andrewgale@carolina.rr.com or kervin@carolina.rr.com with the number of $5 balls you intend on making no later than Sunday, November 2, 2014.

For those community members who would like to simply attend the event I strongly encourage you do so.  In this case, no RSVP is required and the cost is free.

Notably, again this year I intend on personally donating my time to make a limited number of light balls for sale.  These personalized light balls cost $40 each of which $25 (100% of the net proceeds are donated to the local non-profit organization, A Child’s Place (http://www.achildsplace.org/help-for-homeless-kids/about-a-childs-place/).  If you have an interest in purchasing a personalized light ball please email me at andrewgale@carolina.rr.com.

In closing, I wanted to thank you for your overwhelming generosity that helped raise over $2,500 for A Child’s Place last year via the sale of personalized light balls and general donations.

Blessed and Grateful,

Andrew Gale
