Remember for those of you taking part in the treebanding grant at any point you do not get taken care of to alert Silver Duck. They do thousands of trees throughout the city and it is very easy to miss a tree here and there. If you alert Silver Duck of an issue they will address it promptly. Currently all the bands included in our Matching Grant are going up in Madison Park. Sometime around Thanksgiving they will return to apply the tangle foot. Then next spring they return and remove the bands for free.
Once the tanglefoot goes up be careful blowing any leaves around. You do not want leaves stuck to the tanglefoot. It will act as a bridge for the females crawling up the trees at the end of next month.
Last year we had 1 or 2 people that missed the tanglefoot stage. Again let them know immediately if you have been missed so they can protect your trees.
Hopefully we can have limited issues with worms next spring and save our canopy.
Remember if you missed out on the grant oppoturnity you can still save $10 bucks a tree if you live in Madison Park, with their $30 per tree flat rate. Silver Duck is charging all other neighborhoods $40 per tree this year. We were given last years rate of $30 per tree.
Contact Silver Duck directly for any issues or to hire them for your tress.

They also offer spraying in the spring.
The more residents that band their trees or spray the better off we are as a neighborhood.
You can buy supplies and do it yourself from places like Black Hawk Hardware. It is a bit of a messy process with the tanglefoot.
With Silver Duck the work is done for you.
